As we showed at our last two editions, the end of Pride and the explosion of the U.S. market, helping the growth of UFC, is entirely changing the paradigms of the sport. After carefully follow the crisis that hit the two main Brazilian teams that always turned around the Pride and see the appearance of new teams and the phenomenon of the popularity of the MMA, we show a special report divided in this issue (April) and next (May) another phenomenon that is changing the MMA market in Brazil: The export of talents. Attracted by the excellent structure of training and proximity to the main world market, stars as Wanderlei Silva, Marcelo Garcia, Ronaldo Jacaré, Roan Carneiro, Alexandre Pequeno, Gesias Cavalcante, Antonio Pezão and many of other decided to go to the United States. Way also followed by the two largest national teams, which have already opened their subsidiaries at North America.
To report such a phenomenon we were at the two main MMA teams in the United States: The X-Treme Couture, at Las Vegas and American Top Team (in Florida) and we also visited the new subsidiaries of Brazilian Top Team and Chute Boxe.
With this series of reports we hope to show how is the life of others Brazilians abroad and also to helping our faithful reader to understand why Brazil became from the largest importer for the largest exporter of talents in the MMA world.
In this issue you check out the first part of our saga that begins at the American west coast, specifically at Las Vegas where stays Randy Couture’s train center. At the X-Treme Couture we had the opportunity to follow three training days of Brazilian Wanderlei Silva, Ronaldo Jacaré and Robert Drysdale next to tops as Randy Couture and Forrest Griffin. We also talked with Wanderlei Silva that, for the first time, accepted to open his house’s door for a vehicle of the press. The result of the first part of this work you see below.
