In a conversation with TATAME.com, Gesias talked about the second fightagainst the Japanese, with a possible return fight against Aoki and his plans for the future. "It has many things that I could have done, but there come the “if”, "and “if" my mother was a cow, I could have been born calf" said the Brazilian. Check out below the complete interview with the JZ Calvan:
What went wrong to you at the fight? The strategy you made didn’t went as you expected?
Once that the fight is over, it appears many things that I could have done or I failed to do. I made a mistake at some points, for example, to have trust a lot on my strength, but if we see it better, this is not a mistake, because I will keep trusting and I know that I have to trust on it. What I see as my mistake was that I did not have the sharpness to change what was not performing well, despite it is something that I always have.
Where did you believe Aoki dominates the fight? Do you think he tied the fight or you think he just made a strategy to impossibility your game?
Aoki made the game that he always make. He played using Grappling taking advantage about his physical, being flexible and working the positions from the guard. The truth is, I gave it to him. In my point of view, I gave him the opportunity to do the only game that he can equate to me.
What you could have made to win?
Flied Go-go-plata, cross hammer, praying mantis stile, karate chopp… It has many things that I could have done, but there come the “if”, "and “if" my mother was a cow, I could have been born calf.
Do you think in a return fight against him?
We have just finished the first season of the series that had three episodes (Yarennoka, Dream 1 e Dream 2). Now it’s wait to the event to finish and see what the staffs are going to offer to me. If the event keeps interesting to the fans, to the event, to me and for my team, I will go happy.
What did the Japanese talked to you? What were the reaction of the Dream promoters?
I didn’t felt the reaction of the public. Japanese is fight fan. Winning or losing, it doesn’t matter for the majority, they respect you just because you are a fighter. It is like a class above humans.
After that fight against Aoki do you think in fight at ? Do you have any offers?
Not yet. I still have a contract with K-1.
When are you going to come back to the rings?
Now I don’t know yet. I had the opportunity to come bach to the next round of the GP against Nagata because, as I know, Aoki could not fight, but I can’t too, because I have to see my knee injury.
Do you think you are going to fight the GP alternate fight or you just comeback at the second semester?
Now just at the second semester because I have a knee injury.
