King Mo Lawal’s positive steroid test was not bad news only for himself. On an exclusive interview to TATAME, Rafael ‘Feijão’ Cavalcante revealed he was negotiating his next bout on the event exactly against King Mo, and the duel would be for the vacant light heavyweight title.

“I would fight King Mo... It wasn’t official yet, but that was the talk, but he was caught using steroids and things got complicated”, regrets the former champion, who conquered his title with a knockout over Mo. “It would be the main event on March 3, worth the belt. Now he was caught and I don’t know what happens next”.

Rafael is disappointed about the attitude of athlete who was caught using drostanolone, same substance used by Hermes Franca and Josh Barnett in the past. “I was surprised that an athlete at his level was caught doing steroids”.

With Lawal suspended, Feijao is waiting for the definition of his next opponent, but does not know if he remains on the line for the light heavyweight title, which is vacant since Dan Henderson left for the UFC. “I still don’t know about it neither who my next opponent would be. I’ll tell you this: things just got complicated”.
