After many rumors, UFC finally confirmed the rematch between Mauricio Shogun and Forrest Griffin in UFC Rio. Ultimate’s president, Dana White announced the light heavyweight bout at MMA Fighting website, and TATAME confirmed with sources that it will indeed happen on August 27th, in Rio de Janeiro (UFC 134).

Right after joining UFC’s cast, Shogun debuted as the great star of the recent-extinct Pride, but was submitted by the champion of the first edition of the reality show The Ultimate Fighter, Forrest Griffin, with a rear naked choke on the third round. Besides this rematch, the main event of the evening will be the bout between Anderson Silva and Yushin Okami, a rematch of the bout that happened in 2006, when the Brazilian was last defeated.
