Recovered of a shoulder surgery, which happened in May of 2009, Vitor Belfort is preparing himself for his comeback to the rings on United States. Carlson Gracie’s black belt has splitting his time between the trainings in Las Vegas, where he works with Shaw Tompkins, and California, where he focus on his Jiu-Jitsu training on the gym of the world champion of Jiu-Jitsu, Lucas Leite… “I’m coming back, but since I love training, I always work hard, so I have to watch out so I don’t work too hard on my shoulder”, tells.
While improving his good shape and techniques, Belfort will keep an eye on the confrontation between Anderson Silva and Chael Sonnen, which happens on August 7, when UFC 117 promises to heat Oakland, in California. According to Vitor, this fight will determine his next opponent. “I’m waiting for a call of UFC, nothing has been set yet. Dana White and Lorenzo (Fertitta) told me it’d be the winner of this bout. For now what I can do is wait, but I’ll accept whatever they offer me, I’ll be excited”, said Belfort, who does not think about another possibility than the belt dispute. “I want the belt, it doesn’t matter who I have to defeat. That’s what I hope, and that’s what UFC wants, Dana and Lorenzo told me that, so let’s wait to see the result of this fight between Anderson and Sonnen to see who it’ll be”, concluded. |
